Ran a 14min A-Main last night at the Reo Raceway 2nd anual money race with my Caster Fusion Pro using the Novak 7.5, and (2) SMC 4000mAh Lipos I qualified 4th out of 7, the other 6 cars were Losi, and finished 3rd. Brushless 8th scale is every bit as exciting as Nitro! The one thing you loose though is the pitstop strategy. Other than that you can't beat it. Can't wait until the next race :)

Great job, I said it before that Caster USA's decision to sponsor all of us guys this year is going to truly put all the old caster rumors to bed. I bet that this year and next year Casters sales will probably double, and I am happy to be a part of it. Hogie, how does the Novak do in the car and do you recommend the 7.5 or do you have a few of them as a tuning option? And are you running a heatsink on the motor? I will be getting 1 after I get all my nitro stuff in order.

I really like the Novak 7.5, but the downfall is I'm running a 10 pinion. I'd like to get ahold of an 8.5 or 9.5 if they ever make one so that a 13T pin would be my base, and I could have more range for gearing.

I would have thought it would need the 5.5 or the 6.5 I thought that the 7.5 wouldnt be enough power.

Hook up with Dennis Allison (xxxtruck on here). I think he runs for Novak and posted this in the Fusion Electric Section... thread = "Dennis Allison"
"I was running the new 8.5HV the 10.5 will be out next."

Glad to hear man! There were alot of electric Losi's at my race today running with the nitro's and a RC8 or 2. All finished behind my 1.5R though :D My batts are still not up to par to race. Hopefully will get some extra dough soon to get the batts I really want for the fusion.

If we would have went more than 15mins I don't know if I would have made it. I figured it out before the race and I was burning up 300mAh/min. That should have ended my main earlier than 14min, but I did a little conservation in the middle part of the race that I think was a big factor in letting me make the full 14mins. When a couple of them dropped out at the 12-13min mark I was sweating though!

At my race I was running the 1.5R at, in the 20 minute A-main, NONE of the electrics pitted at all. Not even for a stop and go. That is just wrong and not fair. They should at least come in for a couple seconds like the nitros if they want to run in the same class.

typically that's what they are suppose to do, make stops when a Nitro normally would. I was running in an all electric buggy class though so it wasn't an issue.

Did the race director go over the pitting requirements at the drivers meeting?
I run primarily 1/8th electric and always bring it up at the drivers meeting if the race director does not. The last thing I want is win by cheating. It is unfair. I am a firm believer that you should be directed to pit between certain time intervals to align your pitting with the requirements of the nitro cars.

I always pit when I run with the nitros. They do have a Novak 8.5 out now.
