When or if you guys are going to release the pre-mounts (Tires) and about how much are going to sale them for???
Last time I talked to you (Cam) over the phone you said you were going to try them out at Rd. 1 of the North series. How did they work? How was the wear on them if you tried them out?
Thanks again,
Lee Jones

cant speak for Cam and teh USA guys but i just tried them out and am pleasantly surprised how good they are.
I usually run GRP Atomic's or Jolly's and the Caster gave the same feel and bite.
I cant say much on wear but will be running again on Saturday.
I used the loose tyres and mounted them on TeamMagic black rims.
I didnt use the foam inserts that came with them becuase of the high spot from the foam inserts join.
I used GRP moulded inserts that i took out of a old pair of wheels.

I ran the stock kit (crimefighter) tires at the RCPS race and they worked pretty good. We got zero practice time so I didn't get to try much. I did go to a harder compound proline CF and liked it a little better.
A buddy of mine ran them last week at another track and liked them, but also didn't get to try much else.
I also like a firmer compound at my local track (the caster kit tires are real soft). I haven't tried any of the other treads, but they look good.

Thanks for all the input. Right now, I am running Twister tires www.twistertiresusa.com thanks to Mr. Brian Bosley, I am getting those for $15 pre-mounted. They are really good tires. I was just wondering about the Caster tires.

First impression is that the stock CF tires are too soft... they have good bite, but makes the car feel lazy compared to a harder tire. I ran Ofna orange foams... I would try a firm foam next time to see if that helps.
My car was better with the proline xtr CF... felt more planted and stable. I don't know if the lap times were better, but it felt good.
But the other treads might be very good. There is a sponsored VP Pro driver at the RCPS race, but I didn't talk to him about what he ran, etc.

I agree the stock one are a little soft but grip pretty good. My buddies love it when I run them because when slide through the turns on a blue grooved track they howl like a real car sliding on concrete LOL! I just tried my friends Proline Holeshots last weekend at the race and made the buggy more responsive.

Id have to add that teh new std kit tyres are a lot better than the older hard ones.
Just needs a good firm moulded insert.

Well I found out today my last LHS is closing up shop and I think it would be a good idea to carry these premounts if Cam has decided to sell them or at least the tires. I would definitely like to try a set.

So did you put them out of business with your online stores? That is sad to hear. In my opinion, the problem with the stores is that they do not put enough emphasis on the track, let alone if they have one. The stores who promote tracks will be the ones who survive and the ones who are the most organized during race days will be the best off. I absolutely hate racing at my lhs because of how they run it. I was there Wed night and they actually held up a race for 10 minutes because someone was eating dinner. They do that crap all the time and it infuriates me. There should be no in between time except maybe 1 minute to water. Just my opinion.

Nah I did not put him out of business. He was actually a Caster dealer after talking with cam when I first go my K8T but was never impressed with them and thought they were cheap but he at the same time he carries Redcat as his main brand. ??? He says his rent got raised and is outrageous at almost $3,000 month and does not have the money to carry what everyone wants too. Just came out of nowhere and called me today to see if I wanted to buy any of his stock to sell. Sucks for me because he is a good friend and I buy all my fuel from him and odds and ends I cannot get yet. Maybe pick up his proline wheels and tires and stuff on monday for his cost. Also call Byrons today to try and carry there fuel. Everyone runs that around here and now nobody sells it. Sent in app today, will find out tomorrow.
