Mikey says they are available, not sure on price yet, but how many people want them. Obviously, team members will get them at a discounted price...

I need to know if we need to spend $$$ getting them here by plane quickly or if everyone is willing to wait for the ship and train.....

here here, I definately want a set! Count vnmsgt in too, I know he's been waiting for them, of course he'll probably want as many as he can get his hands on since he's a dealer. How long is the transit time by boat and train? How much extra cost would Air add?

Asia to Iowa overnight by plane means about 2 -3 days depending on customs. Otherwise by ship and train, it is about 5-6 weeks also depending on customs.

As for Boone to Des Moines, we quit using UPS and went with Shell Oil instead, we felt that since you overpaid, we would buy you some carbon credits from Al Gore and help the environment. I figure we can mention it in RC Driver or Xtreme RC and maybe get a tax writeoff and some good press from the New York Times. Here is a link, you can watch the flash movie and see how your parts are going, but remember that we told them they had to go west instead of east and start in Iowa. They are trying to beat their previous record using a cobalt from enterprise this time.

Any word on pricing and if they are on the way yet?

hakmazter
05-10-2008, 10:47 AM
they will be on the way with the electrics. Supposed to be leaving next week. I'll post a price after a few hours as my teenage daughter is making me take her to the mall...

hakmazter
05-10-2008, 08:35 PM
OK, fronts from our webstore will be $48.75 per pair and rears will be $51.85 per pair. Suggested retail will be $60 and $64 accordingly.

I haven't physically seen them yet, but I will assume that a person would need 2 rears for a truggy as that is how it is on the regular shocks....

As a team driver, there is a discount and a possible promotion...I need to talk to Cam. I told Mikey to put some in the electric buggy sample pack that should be on a plane soon, so shipping costs are virtually nothing since there is a box catching a ride anyways....not like shocks weigh alot....

Any new news on the Big Bores recently? I know you said a "test" type set were hitching a ride in the electric buggy box, when are they supposed to get here? When they do arrive....how about pics so we can all droolNopics

Oh, almost forgot to ask, what about the 150cc fuel tanks?

vnmsgt
05-21-2008, 10:15 AM
I was told by cam that the 150cc fuel tanks and big bores are in the same shipment as the brushless electric buggies already on there way over here and we will know as soon as the show up. I would like some pics though of the big bores if anyones got them.

I have been running some Jammin Big bores for a little while doing some testing. I think number 1 is that these are really different, you can't just make the shock feel similar and mount it in the same position on the car, because they hold so much volume the leverage will need to be different.

Here is what I have been running.

front/rear drilled 55 holes

25 in front and 20 in the rear.

It will feel soft and that is the idea. I have my shocks mount on the ouside hole all around.

I think the Ofna springs are too long for the caster car so after seeing the caster springs, it looks like those will be the way to go.

does anyone knows the standard price for the BB shocks in the market?

Jammin = expensive and Kyosho = Really expensive:&!@

No really, I think you can get a set of Jammins for about 85.00 or so without springs. Kyosho's I think are over 110.00 plus springs. Both retail of course. Anyone let me know if I am off.

cold_reboot
06-12-2008, 08:44 AM
Jammin 61.99 on AMainHobbies
Kyosho's are 74 on AMainHobbies for the rear, little cheaper on the front
Can get the Jammin's for 54.99 at HorizonHobby.

hakmazter
06-12-2008, 10:29 PM
ha ha ha. I was just pointing out the fact that they are going for less there. Cam was telling me that they are going for big money, etc.... and I looked on ebay and stuff was cheaper there, but those people take kits apart and sell pieces. Speaking of which...How do they make any money at that? I see so many parts sell for .01 or .99 because of 1 bidder......

vnmsgt
06-13-2008, 05:45 AM
I cannot see how they make money either. My friend has a losi 8 buggy and I bought him a set of front/center/rear diff assemblies with bulkheads for $80!. He only needed the ring and pinion gears for the front and rear diff and that would have cost him I think it was 75 just for that!

Got my BIG BORES in today and am building them right now!! They are NIIICE!!! Some neat things I have not seen on any other shocks yet. Cannot wait to try them out on the buggy and truggy this weekend! Does anybody know which springs are the stiff ones and soft ones???

PS. If anybody needs any I got them in stock!!

Mr Fusion
07-31-2008, 10:05 PM
blue are stiffer... for what it's worth, Cam and I both ran the blue ones on the buggy

I think you might have better luck at rctech or rcuniverse..... Everyone here is either a team driver or someone you sold to already....(with my help of course)

Go spread the word at the other forums about these....

camshaft

We used this last weekend 1.4mm 50wt up front and 1.3mm 35wt in the rear. Still fine tuning. cam

vnmsgt
08-22-2008, 10:48 AM
Why so high in the front and lower in rear? That is wierd to me.

Jason Porter
08-22-2008, 11:26 AM
Smaller piston hole in the rear, creates more pack. If they ran much higher oil in the rear it would feel like a brick when hitting small bumps and such.

I ran this excact setup at a different track then Cam and Dave, and it worked very well through rough sections, and landing off bigger jumps.

I had blue spings up front and yellows in the rear.

camshaft
08-22-2008, 12:59 PM
I was actually thinking of going to 55 up front, but might want to start drilling 1.3mm pistons to like 3-1.3 and 3-1.4 holes at 45wt or 50wt. cam

hi guys
are these new big bores in the kits for the k8-t proper front and rear, or is it still using 2 sets of rear shocks on the truggy ??

chris

vnmsgt
08-30-2008, 04:10 PM
It still has 2 sets of rear shocks for the truggy but unlike the stock old shocks they fit perfect and no problems at all.

maz64
08-30-2008, 04:32 PM
ok thanks for infor
was just unsure as the old ones seemed to make the front wishbones sit too high

just going by the pics as still waiting for the k8-t to land on uk shores

they are still on the "sloooow boat " :(

I have always loved Axials. They have great power and are super easy to tune. They have always lasted me along time. Only thing is they are not worth rebuilding. For the price of a piston and sleeve you could get a new motor for just a little more. I have had 4 of them. Not what I run now but I still like them.

Well I cannot stand a dirty truggy or buggy! I always clean it after each day I run. What you say in those pics was right after I ran and then the big bores came in that day and I put them on just to see. Could not wait to clean it first!!

is that a buggy shock tower in the rear? looks awful small (thats what she said:D) on the ocm and mugen they have a huge rear shock tower, not complaining just curious.

vnmsgt
09-03-2008, 07:45 PM
NO that is a truggy shock tower. The shock geometry is WAY different from a Mugen and OCM along with the front degrees of caster too.
