Here's the "big" race we had April 5th. This is just the qualifier against a HB D8 nitro, he flamed out...I didn't...

Nice rtrack. When I was in Okinawa we had a little track just off the ocean and it was mostly sand, but we always had like twenty guys. I was the only american though. I ran a Kyosho Turbo Inferno back then. (1992)

well, john, i hope the name is right for YDBD, we are also looking to find a good Japan distributor, if you got someone interested or somone who knows the japan RC industry, we will love to contact them to enter the Japan market.
Hey Mikey,
The two best RC shops on Okinawa are Siro, he has mostly Tamiya and touring, and RC Paradise, (Rajiten) which also has many stores in mainland Japan and the guys are the best. I will stop by and ask both shops today about distributors.
How about flying up here for some vacation and you can talk to my engineering studens about how you work on toys for a career?
Itching to drive more!

The guy that runs the shop on 51 just down from Futema would be a good guy to approach. If you feel like a drive go check him out. He might even remember me. I was in there every day and I would also take him on base and cash american money for Yen for him. Ask him about the red headed Marine that ran the Kyosho Turbo Inferno In 92,93,94.

Here's some pics of my Caster Fusion on my home track, literaly at my house.
A couple things I did:
Screen for the windshield for cooling, popped out back windows for flow
Raised up the radio dust cover for the Futaba 2.5 receiver
Used velco for the body no body pins, this thing stays on!
Found some cool button head screws for the droop adjusters
Trimmed the sharp corners off of winghttp://www.yellowdunebuggy.com/images/Caster%20Buggy/images/CB%20009.jpghttp://www.yellowdunebuggy.com/images/Caster%20Buggy/images/CB%20010.jpghttp://www.yellowdunebuggy.com/images/Caster%20Buggy/images/CB%20011.jpghttp://www.yellowdunebuggy.com/images/Caster%20Buggy/images/CB%20013.jpghttp://www.yellowdunebuggy.com/images/Caster%20Buggy/images/CB%20002.jpghttp://www.yellowdunebuggy.com/images/Caster%20Buggy/images/CB%20004.jpghttp://www.yellowdunebuggy.com/images/Caster%20Buggy/images/CB%20008.jpg

clean layout !! looks great.
one piece of advice look at changing the bullet plugs for teh batteries to gold connectors.
Had a few guys use those type connectors and had them melt or arc on there touring cars.
It can damage the batteries.
Razzor, I am running one gold connector as it is the only one that didn't give me a hassle. The gold connectors are about 6mm shorter than the banana plugs I am using and don't have the contact surface. The other gold connectors would just cut out power and the ESC would reset. I'm going to start looking for banana golds...

yes look for good quality ones.
Thats why all my batts i am ordering now are with Deans plugs.
In mod touring its becoming common for guys to melt the poles so changing to wired batteries is the only solution.
Seems banana plugs are not up to handling capability with lipo.

Castle Creations has a great 4mm gold plug... it's a solid chunk of copper, instead of a shaft with a little spring thing around it. They fit snug and make a very solid high current flow connection. Typical gold plugs flow the current through the wimpy spring part. Some of them aren't too bad, but I've seen some that are definitely not good for high current use.

Thanks Dustin, ordering them today, a bunch of them....

Hey Jon,
Just wanted to see how those trays are working for you.Did you try to lighten them and how much?I want to settle on a weight that would be acceptable before I make any more. Thanks
Heya Jason,
No not using the trays yet, my CNC machine is having Y axis issues, about 1/8 inch off after cutting air.
I'm working on it tho.

Thats no good....let me know when you get it all straightened out.
I had issues with my CNC mill, so I had to do a lot manually and it is not as good as Jason did...but...
I got each tray down to 75grams and one tray with straps weighs 20grams more than one plastic tray, with clips, bar and t-nuts.
I machined off quite a bit underneath as there is a milled out section on the chassis pan and the tray does not touch inbetween the screw posts. I lowered the overall stance of the tray about .125.
I will probably also drill and tap new holes to move the trays in about .25 of an inch.
The aluminum is very high quality and could probably be machined a bit thinner in spots.http://www.rctech.net/forum/attachments/r-c-items-sale-trade/447525d1241044990-8th-scale-billet-battery-trays-caster-ect-p4290262.jpg
