The track(Hobby Haven) was finally dry enough for me to test out my new ZX-1 RTR, and over all i was really impressed. This was my first time on a track with a 1/8 buggy, I owned a Hyper 8 for a short time, and it went very smooth. The engine was lacking in power, but I only have 10 or so tanks through it so it still running rich.
I've been into R/C for about 4 years, mainly Monster trucks, and I have no idea how to set up a buggy. one of the main things I am looking to change, I want a little more power to the front wheels, going around some of the corners the front tires didn't want to grab. It seemed like the rear was getting traction. I know some of this could be the tires, it was getting really dusty.
I have to adjust the brakes a little, but thats no big deal. Any other setup info would be greatly appreciated.
I really don't have anything to compare this to, its nothing like running my LST, with it I just use brute power to get me were I'm going.
Over all I am very impressed with this car, well worth the small amount of money I had to pay for it, theres a few things that I really need to change, but for $350 you can't go wrong

Hey, it's the Goonies guy! Sorry, I just remembered the t-shirt lol. I was the other guy there with the ZX-1 lol. First thing I can tell you, like I said at the track, is keep an eye on the steering end links. You saw me break another one this morning when I came up short on that gap, that's the 4th and final one, hopefully. I picked up I think they were Traxxas ones and they're MUCH thicker. I was unfortunate enough to get one that the rear diff wasn't shimmed properly, so I'd recommend checking the diffs just to be on the safe side. I also found that putting some 3K in the center diff really helped even out the power distribution. You're still tuning from what I could see and I think you'll see what I mean when you start leaning it out. With mine the front end was lifting really bad as if it was putting all the power to the rear. The 3K put a stop to it. Of course if you've been around RC for a while you probly already know how to fix these things. I'm still tuning the diffs and the suspension but it's getting there.

Good to hear its good so far.
On a loose surface you will get some push/understeer on acceleration.
That can be remedied with better tyres but also with playing caster adjustments and changing diff fluids.
