Hites 7985, BLS452, Orion Vortex 1409, or the Ace DS 1013? They all have damn near the same specs, and price if I look around. Just trying to save a few bucks as I stiil need lipos a PT, kit and reciever.

Best value for money and performance is the Ace. Mine are going 4 years now with no issues in 2 buggies and a truggy.
The Futaba is awesome but too expensive.

3 of these are ACE with stripped out gears. I replaced 2 of them with gears from a HS645MG. The thin one on the very bottom is plastic outer gear with plastic inner gear. The Hitec inner gear is brass.

I've the best luck with all my Hitec servos. Still run a 925digi from 1999. In my 1/8 scales been running the 997tg steering and 985 non digital in throttle and couldn't be happier. My .02 but the ace 1015 is pretty good!

All the servos I chose are in the $75 range if I shop around in my Nitro buggy I have a 5955 st and a 5645 throttle and like them alot. I am just trying to save a few $ as I have to basically buy everything reciever, 2 lipo's, PT, and the Kit still. The only thing I got so far is the Speed Passion 2200 system. I like Hitec, seen alot of the Ace servos around but dont like the 1st plastic gear Idea, heard good things about the Orion, and been wanting to try the BLS since they came out. Like I said I can get them all with in $5 of each other and are very similar in specs. This will be for Steering on my Fusion to be.

Having the one plastic gear is not a bad idea.
Get a gear set as spare.
Of all my servos i have killed 1 Ace by leaving it on and it burnt out in fail safe.
Every guy at the track that has had Ace has never had one fail yet.

Razzor in my 10th scales I swear by KO propo servos. When I went to 8th scale I got a KO it had the 1st plastic gear 3 went out in 1 day hencs is why I dont really like that set up. But KO has an option to replace the 1 plastic gear with a steel 1 to make it full metal geared. I just dont have KO money right now either. I really want to try the Orion as it has the best over all specs with 195 oz torque at .9 transit time but its actually out of stock where I can find them cheap. They are rebaged Savox's from over your way Razzor whats the word on them.

KO is reputable but at the price my Ace servos have outlasted my KO and Futaba by 10 fold.
The Savox have been getting good reviews and i am using teh 4kg ones in my touring cars at the moment.
Havent tried or seen anyone locally using them yet.

I like hitec personally because of their awesome warranty and they perform great..I have ran the ace it's a fast servo but it wasn't mine. I stick to HITEC over 4 years on mine and still kicking like when it was new
