Here is the completed K8. The body didnt turn out as good as I would have liked. Figured I would get a couple shots while it is still clean! Headed out the door for the track. Break in and then race tonight if all goes well. Enjoy!

Hope it goes good! Looks nice too! Me and a couple other guys had some bad first races but they are growing pains and getting to know the truck. I love mine now and it runs great. Good luck!

Forgot the camera at home, so no pics. The Go Tech is a total pain in the arse to break in...very frustrating! I had a couple of Team drivers there that helped me so that made it better, first tank was spent trying to get it to idle. Second and third tanks were slightly better. Ran 7 tanks through the engine and now it is good to go. Truck needs a new steering servo, the one thats in it is WAYYY to weak to full realize the steering potential. Also, the toe in links are awful, adjustments make them pop off. I swapped them out for some Mugens and had no more trouble. Also the plastic servo horns are not good. I stripped mine out after two laps on the track. I replaced it with an aluminum horn. Overall I am pretty satisfied with the truck. The engine is going to be great! I had lots of interest in it. One of the Team drivers (who is an excellent driver, runs mostly big, national events) was finishing breaking it in on the track and he really liked it. Pretty good day overall, didnt get to race due to rain.

I use aluminum servo horn or stock Hitec ones which are pretty good. That steering servo (JR650) should be ok. Most people where I am at use them and do ok with them. I admit they are nothing like a 330oz. servo but will last pretty good in a truggy. I used them for about a year with no problems, just have to adjust to them being slower than much higher torque servo's. The Toe in links you can make captured and have no problems at all. Mine popped off too and now they are captured and work just fine. I would like to see a pic of the mugen ones you used though. I told you the motor would be a pain to break in! LOL! Glad to hear you had fun!

How did you make the links captured? Do you have a pic? I would like to do mine just to have as a backup. The servo works fine but I ran with a 333 that a friend let me use and there is a world of difference. Yeah the motor was quite the beee-otch to get going well but...I like it!!! I had tons of fun!

Drill out the center of the pivotball...get a longer screw and put a washer and a lock nut on it. Or you can just buy some captured pivotballs like the Reckwards for the MBX5T.

Break in and getting used to the new vehicle are always a pain in the rear...usually...I loved my K8T the first time I put tires to dirt.

Boy, I should have been able to figure that out on my own!! Sometimes this hobby can make you feel really incompetent! Thanks Cold, I appreciate it.

For the servo look at ACE DS1015
Have one in my K8 and its practically bullet proof and very fast.
Definately the best value for $$ spent.
Building a K8T for a customer with Caster servos and will give feedback on them soon.

Look under the race mods and setups section here and there are a bunch of pics of us who made ours captured and other neat stuff too.

He was using a DX3-R spektrum. BTW I own this truggy now. He got out of the hobby. I got it as a roller and will be used for parts for my race truggy just in case.
