I bought one of these bodies for the Mugen assuming it would fit. I painted it..looks sharp, stickers on, holes cut in the body I admired it for a few minutes and then set it on the K8. No dice! The posts on the truggy are not long enough to secure the pins. Are there slightly longer body posts available? Any solutions? Anyone else ran into this? Thanks.

That's the body that I run and I have no problems it fits good.

If I move the posts it will work. My shocks are set so that the hole I need for the body posts keeps me from using it. Guess I could move the shocks. Thanks.

I have the same body Jerod and it's a fight fit to get the pins through the posts at the stock location. I have to push the body at the pins to bow the body ever so slightly to get the pins through. When the current body gets replaced I'll move the posts more than likely to make it a little easier. I also thought about taking a dremel to the posts and taking a little off of the thickness of the round bases the body sits on to give a little more clearance. Haven't done anything to it yet tho.

Yeah it is a pain. I wonder what other bodies would be a better fit? I am ultra picky about how my stuff looks and I cant stand something not being just so. The stock body is the same as a Jammin right?

Vnm says it's based off the Jammin body, I don't know, I've never had a Jammin body. Member of another forum ran the Crowd Pleaser for the Jammin on his. I saw pics of it and it looked fine to me.

I may have to check some out and see what fits. Vnm has the Symbio on his but I cant remember which mfr its made for. The fit on the back of the Crowd Pleaser is where its the worst...those damned squares!! Other than finding a body that fits good, I am loving the truck!

The Symbio body Vnm has is for the Mugen as well =)

Actually after I'd already cut the holes in the back of mine, I thought of a way that may have been a little better. I'll probably try that on the next body if I run into the same thing.

You can find that Symbio body at AMainHobbies.com by the way

What had you thought of trying? I really like the lines of the Crowd Pleazer.

Yes my Symbio is a Mugen one. I found out that when you buy a mugen body for the K8T you cannot use the dots on the body to cut the holes for the shocks because the mugen has the shocks further apart than the K8T. Both my JConcepts mugen Illuzion body and Symbio body I have to slight push down on the body to make the pins go through. I did drill out 2 new holes in the front posts a little higher and made the holes front to back of the car instead of side to side and it works alot better. If you look up a Jammin X1CRT RTR or Ofna MUTILATOR you will see the body on it is identical to the Caster K8T Body. The Crowd Pleazer will fit. I found some pics of a K8T on RCTech.net of a K8T with a crowd pleazer racing. And Reboot has one too so it has to work.

It works it just doesnt fit "right". I didnt use the stock marked holes on the body I made them myself. The posts just arent tall enough. I can make it work but I have to bow the body. I am actually going to drill some holes higher and lenghtwise as well...thought of that earlier but just haven't done it yet. I meant to ask you as well what weight oil was in the shocks? I changed them this evening to some 30W oil and to my eye the front sits a little better now. I am learning more and more everyday!

I used 30wt when I built them.

LOL!! I changed to some grey Mugen springs on the front as well. Guess I changed the oil for no reason then..lmao!! Man thats just my luck!!

When i said better way I was going to use a dremel to cut the angle from the bed leading up to basically make a tab...then use my airplane covering iron to flatten that tab out ...post would go through the tab I made.

Clevis pins. I used clevis pins to fit an aftermarket body on another car I have, and I'm using them to fit an Inferno GT WRX body on a buggy (making a 1/8 rally car just for giggles lol). Just get the ones that are the right length and mount them. You may need to drill holes to mount teh pins, but no biggie. I grind off the head of the pin and use a second set of body clips to support the body from underneath.
