I use the hitec 5955 and it works great. I like the Hitecs better because they are water resistant when the JR's are not.

Do you sell the Hitecs? If so I would get one or two from you rather than another supplier. I think you and Cold are the only two that ever respond to my posts! And Clayton!:D

I do not carry them yet. I am talking with a distributor that carries them and seeing if I can become a dealer for them. If you need them now get them somewhere else. If you can wait a little I should know if about 2-3 days and then I would have to order them.

I think we just check the site a few more times a day then others. Maybe they don't have net access at work. Razzor's usually trollin around too but you gotta remember he's on a little different time frame than us since he's in South Africa. Anyway...I have the Hitec 5955 TG in mine as well and love it. They are around 100 bucks. I get mine from the LHS because he's cheaper than the online retailers. Ace servo's are probably your next great bang for the buck. Ace's come stock in the RTR TTR's (even tho they aren't the 1013 or 1313) and I've never had a problem with those. Razzor can probably tell you more about um since he uses them daily. You can find the Ace's several places, I usually do all of my shopping at AMainHobbies and Tower. Tower is usually higher than everyone else, but they also tend to give more info and tech specs. If you look on Tower the Ace Servo's are actually rebadged Associated servo's. The DS1013 and DS1313 are the most commonly used on the Aces (Digitals). Alot of people swear by them and say they are the best bang for the buck servo's on the market.

The Ace reputable and the best value for $$$ spent.
The DS1313 is ideal for buggy steering and might be overboard for throttle but at +- $70 cant be beat.
DS1015 is THE steering servo for a truggy.
The Caster servos are also good value but i only sell them to guys i know or who are racers and understand what punishment equipment takes.
At the end of the day no matter what you use things do pack up from wear and tear.
Id suggest also looking at a lipo reciever battery and regulater.
One of teh best upgrades anyone could make to there buggy/truggy.

I use the DS1313 for steering and throttle for my k8T and noticed a HUGE difference in servo speed and strength over the stock rtr's. The lipo battery helped ALOT too although it barely fits in the receiver box.
Oh and I just screwed mine up by getting them wet and Associate had no problem returning them.

Sorry. Hey do you all know that the 5955 can handle 7.4 volt lipo with not burning up, and then it makes the servo 403oz of torque at a speed of .13. that is some inside info for you all.?&^

I haven't jumped over to Lipo yet. Mostly because I'm certain that my wife isn't going to understand why the hell we have to buy all this other stuff to work with a different battery when the batteries I have work just fine with what i have. I had to tell her our tv was going to stop working in 2009 to get a flat screen HD. She didn't choke me when she found out that was exactly the case but at some point i've got to be pushing my luck.

lol, i convined my wife we needed a ps3 for our new hdmi tv since a normal blue ray player at the time was in the $400 range. Games are little harder to justify though.

You suck by the way BigC...I'm on Servo City trying to figure out how I'm going to explain this to my wife. On a different note, whats everyone using on Throttle...I want a faster one. Thinkin I might try the Hitec 965MG .10 transit time and 144oz

It's simple Jerod, no modification needed. Go's right in. 6 screws i think, 2 on the tray 4 on the mount. Just route your lead to the front and around the outside of the radio tray...lest your spur gear have it for a snack. :D

Cold dont worry about fast transit speed for the throttle servo it will just make the truggy harder to drive.
Think about it if you drive your 1:1 car, do you apply the throttle fast everytime you press it ?
Remember smooth is fast ;)

Guys, is there a big difference with metal vs titanium in servos. What do you think of this one below?

fyi: it is for throttle.

For throttle all I have ever used are the Hitec 645MG servo's with 140oz. of torque. Have not had one fail on the throttle for me yet and at about 40 bucks and under they are cheap with a 2 year warranty. Hey bc24fl I am probably ordering more of these tomorrow if you want to try them out.

They are analog right? If so please save 1 for me. PM quote. Is it possible to get these soon (before thursday). I want to have this installed and ready for track night?
Thanks.

It is analog. No I cannot have it by this thursday. If I order tomorrow IF they have them in (they told me they would) then it takes 5-7 days for me to get them usually. Sorry.

I run twin 5955 throttle and steering. oh yeah I also run lipo unregulated and have been running them this way for over a year i guess. Just don't stick your finger in there and and move the wheel you may loose one! lol :) Its overkill on the throttle but the way I figure it if something happens to the steering I can always put the one off the throttle on it and put something smaller on the throttle. However it's hard to find a bigger one when you need it out of the pit box!

It is just the stock arm and brake linkages are not that great, hard to adjust brakes. I had some of the sportwerks brake throttle linkages but sold out of the already. That is what I use.

A lot of guys will run digital on steering and analogue on throttle claiming its more reliable but if anything the biggest issue most guys have is not setting or being able to set there end points which strains the servos and causes them to over heat or retire.
Initially when i started running a buggy i ran a Futaba S3305 (9kg) on steering and a S3010 (6.5kg) on throttle and it worked great for well over a year until i cooked them when i fitted a lipo with out a regulater.
Since then i have used a 13kg KO that lasted 1 event and the Ace that hasnt given me a days grief.
In this time i have seen guys change servos so often but dont seem to know why they killing them and always blame the product.
Of the cheaper servos availabel i have been surprised by teh TowerPros and they seem to take the abuse in stride.
BlueBird servos where a trend for a while but short lived as there plastics are not up to standard.
Hitecs tend to like to strip gears.
Most guys use Ace now and Futaba.

Well I'm not blaming the product and I know it's good as evident by all the positive feedbacks on the net. My problem is an obvious one. Being inexperienced I'm probably not using it correctly and over stressing the servo. So if analog is more newbie friendly then that is the route that makes sense for me at this point.
Oh and yeah, I've seen the towerpros but it isn't sold anywhere but ebay. If you know of a place let me know.
Thanks!
