I had a long conversation with Mikey last night. I learned a lot about the industry and how manufacturing in China works. It was exciting. He is wanting to see us grow and gave me a lot of advice as to what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong over here in the states in his opinion. It was enlightening and I am committed more than ever to get us growing. There have been a lot of things going on in China such as the olympics, etc... that have been creating shortages of raw materials. I also learned how that impacts them and other manufacturers. He agreed with most of my ideas and agreed with most of my ideas and concerns.
Hopefully, there will be a lot of action on here in the next few weeks. Right now we just have to wait for shipments and talk about race results. I personally want to get rid of some kits, etc... so we can get the next shipment of kits in. There will be a few changes (no new models, etc..) that will make them better than our current ones. So, if you know anyone who wants some of the current (version 2) Nitros, let me know. We only have 20-30 of each in stock now and should hopefully be able to blow through them.

Not at all. Go ahead and order now if you want one. If you noticed, the pro kits say "big bore shocks included" and the price has been changed a little. If you ordered a pro kit tomorrow, I would just send out a set of big bore shocks at no charge as soon as they hit the ground. There are no dramatic changes or anything....there are a few threads in here that discuss things that we are considering changing, etc...No new models, no reason to panic, etc.... I just want to sell the best product right out of the box if possible. There are some customers that buy and never frequent here. Seems like everyone that Chris brings in ends up here, and that is exactly what I want, but I have been working with the team and Mikey and Cam in trying to develop the best product for the price and make sure it is as close as possible to what the customer wants.

07-10-2008, 03:38 PM
From what I'm interpreting anyone who buys the kit now or after will get the BB's free when they come in. I seriously doubt the RTR will come with BB's. And trust me, the car handles well without them but according to every1 it is a GOOD upgrade (not necessary).

I will be getting the kit. The site has the BB's priced so I"m assuming there in stock? And it say the kits come with BB's if someone could elaborate that would be great. tia

07-10-2008, 04:08 PM
The Big bores are not in yet according to Cam. bc24l is right. They should be sent out to people who buy the kits I think from here on out and when the BB's come in then the kits that are in stock will have the BB's put in them.

Well I just got my RCDriver magazine and  a Caster Racing add!!!! It is letting everyone know about the big bore shocks. Finally a mag add, lets keep it coming. I hope this creates more interest here on the forums and for Caster! How about maybe a review next! I heard you have to send a free car or something to the mags for a review??? If so, not too much to lose for a ton of free advertising on about 3-4 pages!

"how about a review" I have been waiting since June for the electrics. I am planning on sending at least one probably 2 of the kits to a magazine or 2 as soon as they are here stateside..... I thought everyone knew there was going to be a mention of the big bores in RCDriver. They have been really helpful with me so far.
As for the big bores, yes in fact they are only for the kits, not rtrs. Yes in fact, if someone orders a kit today, their kit will be sent with the regular shocks and as soon as the big bores show up, they will be sent out no charge. So in essence, they are actually a better deal since they will have small and large shocks included. When we get the next batch in, they will have big bores only, but they will be the same otherwise.... So call all your friends and family and help me burn through some. I would like to get some of the next batch about the same time as the new electrics. We have about 20 buggy and 20 truggy kits left. We still have RTRs and they will be the same. They are perfectly built for what they are.

Alright....after much.....much thought and consideration on the matter..................I believe that it would be a great move for me to join the Caster team if you guys still want me on board.:D
There was/is no one particular thing that has lead me to this decision.....it has been the overall experience so far that has impressed me. The whole Caster race program seems to be solid....not to mention that the buggy is pretty good. The people I've encountered here also seem to have a genuine care for the company and all people involved with it.....that alone speaks volumes imo. As with ALL products in this business, there is always room for improvement. However, everything that I have thought of that could be improved upon already is being improved as we speak....or the wheels are in motion for it to be improved/changed in the NEAR future. Overall I think this is a good race program with good people and a good product that absolutely has the potential to excell in the r/c world in a big way. I've found that Caster has alot more to offer than just a buggy/truggy.
So.......if you guys still have a spot for me............sign me up.?&^

Skeller,
Just a few questions? Why now and not before? I have my own thoughts but just curious. If you were offered the chance to be part of such a great team and turned it down what was your reason and why the change of heart? It is always nice to have new members to help a GREAT product grow. But I have grown to care for the caster company and its people and just am curious if it is for the right reasons.
Please do not feel obligated to answer. I am in no position to affect the decisions of this great company. I just want team members that are here for the right reason. I feel other buggys are "pretty good" as you said about the caster but the caster is great.
Thanks
Jason

Jason, no offense taken.:D
First of all....I am a straight foward guy. I don't like to beat around the bush....and I will tell you the truth as I know it.
I didn't take the deal when it first offered to me mainly because I wasn't sure that the buggy was worth messing with. All I've ever heard about Caster was that it's steaming pile of crap....so I had my reservations about the product. And not so much because I want to drive something that is good.....obviously I do...but mostly because MY name is also on the line when I push a product to people. Not that I am anybody special in this buisness....but reputation is everything. I have to race with some of the people that buy stuff cause I tell them it's a good product....some of them are my friends....I won't lie to them just so I can get stuff for cheap. I have to know/believe that the product is goo enough for me to put my personal rep. on the line....and don't take that the wrong way.:D
I can't stand people who only take a deal for good prices....search my posts on rctech in the OCM, GO Tech or PTM thread....I spend alot of time actually working with the products I rep. and the customers who use them. That's what a company gets from me....hopefully that's what Mike and Cam seen about me more than anything.
Now I won't lie that Caster having ALOT of things to offer other than a chassis did have alot to do with my choice. Saving money is always on most people's mind.....and I believe I will save some money with Caster. But honestly not as much as most people think. I have a fuel deal with Tilted RC which also gets me anything they carry at really good prices, I work some with Machines rc Hobbies(Gene Hikerson), THD, IDRC and Pro Twister Mods. All these people help me keep my cost down.....so money wasn't the real issue.....but having a large product line appeals to alot of people. So my thought was that by having a larger product line to offer to the public....more sales could potentially be made for Caster. And at the end of the day....that's what ALL of this is about. Makng money for Caster to grow and be more recognized.
I said the car was pretty good......I've only driven it once. It would've had to piloted itself and brought me back a sandwich for me to have said anything better. Check around with some of my local guys who know I raced it last weekend....ask them what I've said about it. puba187 is on here....ask him what I told him about the car.:D
And I honestly had no idea that this was a great team....you guys have all convinced me of that. I feel like I can grow here....and that's good.
Hopefully I've answered all your questions....feel free to ask more if you like.

Thanks Jason.
One thing I want everyone to understand is that......I'm not here to step on toes or push other people to the side. This is a team and I believe in the team mentality. All of working together is waaaaaaaaaaaay more effective than everyone pulling in a different direction. I have a problem sometimes with jumping in with guns blazin'.....some people take offense and think I'm trying railroad them so I climb higher. That being said.....David is a key player in this team....and I respect his position as team leader/manager. I don't wanna be here unless EVERYONE wants me here and thinks that I can help and that I'm here for the right reasons.
