After doing some inventory on the car last night I noticed the screws that holds the pad in was a little loose. Can I tighten this down all the way and loctite this too? This will improve braking correct?
Or a better question, since I need to pull the car apart anyway, Besides the plug and servo saver nut, is there anything on the car that can damage if it gets tightened too much?

I'm not entirely sure if it's the screw your talking about but if its the ones holding the brake pads on you dont want it to tight or the brakes will bind. However if its real loose the break cams wont engage like they should and braking will not be very good/takes alot of movement from the throttle servo horn to engage breaking. I usually push in on the caliper and there will be a small gap(like you were revering to) between the caliper and the flat part of the screw head. Tighten untilthe head touches the caliper and then back it off a bit. Another thing I put the small springs that trinity makes in between the calipers to separate them when at neutral position. Or u can use small pieces of fuel tubing. Hope this helps.

Ok there is a caliper, pad then a space, then a pad, then caliper. So you're suggesting putting a piece of tubing where the space is. Then tighten to snug (not tight) fit. Is that right?

yes put it in the space and cut it a tick larger then the space. That way it squishes when the brake is pressed then pushes out on the pads to seperate. Make sure you don't get the screws to tight. Leave a little space in there or the brakes will melt down due to drag.

That is very good Jonathan and I will do this. Many Thanks!

Another option is to get a few Viton or silicone orings that are slightly thicker than the brake disc and install them inbetween the pads.
Hop ethese help, pics were taken with cell phone so are not too clear.

Note on the diff support how much is ground off.
On some tracks we sue 12T clutch bells so couldnt get a good mesh.
