Mike, suggestion... if you're going to load manuals, it would be easier if you used this company http://www.scribd.com/
You upload the entire pdf and it will convert it to flash so you can embed in your forum. Users can flip through pages and zoom in and out, etc....
You will need to enable the tag <object> in your security settings to embed OR look for a plugin for scribd and vbulletin.
