Hey peoples,
Unless I did something wrong, the gearing chart in another section of the forum didn't work for me, so I'll do the n00bish thing and ask here....

I'm waiting for my new truggy, and before I make some errors, I thought I better fire off a gearing question.

In your experienced opinions, what would be a good pinion size for keeping a MMM 2650 happy for general bashing about and catching some air? Small, I guess, but if someone could put a finer point on it..... :D

The skinny is that I have all the in car gear, from a failed EMaxx project, including a decent radio, a 330 inch/oz servo and the MMM system so my LHS is gutting the RTR he had in stock for me - Very nice of him. So, this is my first step into Caster and proper modern 1/8th off road...

I can't wait :)

You probably already know this, but the 2650 is meant to use as a Buggy motor. (You mentioned you are going with a Truggy) You may be better off with a 2200 Truggy motor, more lower end torque to help push around that Truggy with if your budget will allow for this. I myself also run a 2650 in my Fusion and the 2650 is a great motor, but may overheat in a heavier Truggy. Just my 2 cents. You will enjoy your Caster Truggy. :)

Thanks guys.

Yeah, it is a bit on the "peaky" side (for a F8T) and I'll probably slip down to a 2200 or one of the new 1800's after a little while. The annoying part is I bought a 2200 set up for my Maxx, and found it a but too torquey so I swapped the motor for a friend's 2650 that he was using in his RC8TE....

It will probably survive for a while, as I won't be racing and generally the way we drive we're not constantly on it 100%, just quick blats over something and then sit back and watch each other try to do the same thing better  and in a pretty cold environment, too.

I should ask, Caster uses Mod 1 pitch gears, don't they?

You won't be disappointed either way friend. Castle makes a very fine product.

Thanks again :)

Oh, yeas, CC products are the best. I've only good things to say about the systems I have.

And I have a 9 thru 11 mod one pinion set on the way....

Thanks again ?&^
