In my opinion you can't go wrong with a Mamba Max Pro. I own two of them and a Tekin combo. Tekin is sensored, and Castle's 1/8th motors are not sensored. Castle comes with USB programming chip, uses the same type of USB connection as a common MP3 player. Tekin you will have some serious soldering to do. Castle only requires whatever type of male connector you use for your battery. Both are good quality units. Good luck on your choice. Don't get a Truggy motor if your running a Caster Buggy, it won't fit until the EX-1.5 comes in. :)

I bought one of the HobbyWing V2.0 ESC's and the LCD programmer box. Hand held programmability rocks. No counting beeps or any of that sillyness.

Yes: http://www.hobbywing.com/english/ArticleShow.asp?ArticleID=428

Why would you want forward and reverse but no brakes? That's gonna be brutal on the driveline.
