I went up there for a few hours and it was a good time. I was shocked to see that there were at least 80 truggys and buggys there and there were at least 8 Casters there. I do not have a lot of info, but I did notice some things.

1.) First round Cam Martin TQ with Caster and new shocks.

2.) Not sure if second or third round, but there were 8 on the track and Matt Rodgers was in the lead by time and Dustin Peckham was in the actual lead, so it was Caster, Caster, and then other brands. About 8 laps in Matt was gaining on everyone and making clean passes when on the long straight, he apparently took out his con rod. Dustin was still out front. At the end of the race, Dustin ended up second completing 21 laps. I think the big boys were doing about 22 laps. Cam will have to say if anyone did 23 or 24 laps for heats...

What was weird was that they do a shotgun start for heats and Dustin started first because he was lined up at the line like it was nhra drag racing....Guy said go, and off he went. Everyone else did a running start. Now the $50 question is....how was he able to do that?

I know the answer....
I will also have to say that something else struck me quite odd. After that heat, Matt Rodgers came up to me and let me know that he thought he broke his con rod on the back straight and wanted me to know that he had an extra motor. He actually apologized to ME for breaking his motor and dnfing. Talk about a class act. This kid just screams "class" and "sportsmanship"

What was also funny is that his Dad was running his first Caster car. I think he was doing pretty well. I am sure that everyone will have plenty to add.... Not sure how anything else ended as I left after that.

Oh yeah, Dustin made me run his Slash again as he was trying to mess with his Caster Fusion. I agreed to marshall for him also. I got 5th out of 7 that heat so it wasn't a complete embarrassment. I made it as many laps as everyone else with no practice and new track layout and a car I have driven twice now.

I can't wait for my Fusion....... I actually want to start racing again. Not as good as most of you guys... but I have potential....

Hey Mike, too bad I didn't have much time to talk to you. I don't think I even formally introduced my self to you at the track. Maybe we can meet up and chat another time. When is the next race you are planning on attending?

Well, see that is the great part...Those of us who posted pictures for our team driver section probably recognize each other....You are much taller than I expected.

Your Dad looked familiar...Has he raced for years? I wonder if you were a little kid racing novice a few years back against me.....

Just make sure you finish the races because if not, everyone here is going to RIP on you BAD!!!:D

Sounds like Casters are getting pretty popular out there!!! I know these forums have blown up like crazy lately! Also some more people on the other forums too!

Oh don't worry, I will finish races. That is how I do not come in last place.

I take slow is fast to an entirely new level. I just have to make sure I don't race in a heat with another Caster driver as I would hate to be accused of being a hack driver....

Hakmazter has nothing to do with r/c driving....

My dad has raced off and on for many years now. As for me I have been racing r/c vehicles for 8 years. And my first race was 1/10 scale novice truck at the old Hobby Haven. Then I ran 1/10 scale gas truck for a few years and then 1/8 scale buggy, which I still race now.

So I did race you then..... Personally I liked the old Hobby Haven better.....

Just wondering if anyone is going to comment on the new shocks?

Not much to say other than they are buttery smooth and had NO ISSUES on the first day out with them.

A local AE sponsored racer picked up a set of Caster big bores to run on his RC8. Actually, two fast AE guys are looking to run them. That tells me a lot, seeing how experienced guys like that think they look good enough to put on their car. (at least until AE gets their BB done)

Sweet:D... hopefully we both will be racing each other sometime again in the near future. I definitely agree with you about the old Hobby Haven track... and I liked it even more when they tore out the blacktop oval and built an offroad track in its place. I am planning on testing the new shocks during the next round of the Iowa points series at Extreme R/C

Oh.... and the new tools (with the new "sp2" tips) look AWESOME!!!!!

I actually wasn't impressed with the tips on the old tools (the 1.5,2,2.5,3mm sizes) but I checked out the new ones and they are sweet.

Another nice job by Mikey!!!

With new stuff like this, Caster is looking like a force to be reckoned with in the future.

pics of teh new "sp2" tips please.

Great o see the momentum picking upf for Caster in teh US.
The more it gets coverage and is exposed the more our local guys will start taking teh product seriously rather than chirp me all the time.

oh yes, you will see more exposure.......nothing big like traxxas or ofna, but you will keep seeing bits and pieces here and there. I am going to focus on getting the name outt there more and more.....

Looks like mine did. Do you like that orange head? I can polish it for you so it looks like chrome... since it is apart....

Might as well put it to good use since I will never run that engine ever again. Also, I figured out that a clutch bell bearing was causing my back-up engine to flame out during the A-Main.

The chip in the con rod is from the crankshaft. And as you can see the shrapnel is from the skirt of the piston that was destroyed
