I don't understand why you are downgrading a Caster RTR Buggy by putting an Associated Body on it? It is or was 100% Caster and you should have left it that way. Maybe someone might see your buggy and buy one then get upset that it came with a different body.
How does it look when a Team Driver won't even run our own bodies on the vehicle? Arms and pillow balls are one thing becouse 99% of the people will not notice it on a track but a body is what makes a car/truck stand out from all the rest.

I don't really think bodies should be an issue as long as you put Caster stickers on it. That's really all that matters since 98 persent of all drivers run aftermarket bodies. I like the body Chris!

Hey Dave. I did run the stock body for about 3 total races. Then the front broke off at the body clip. Then I ran the Mugen one and the new thinner one Jconcepts have broke there too and I returned it to them. I just wanted to try this one out.

Everyone will have their own taste in what body that is used. While my Caster Buggy and Truggy are tough and durable, I do tear up the bodies, and not just the Caster bodies. I am on my 4th Buggy body, and my third Truggy body. When I need a body quickly, I can run down to my LHS and have my pick of bodies that will fit. I, like many others here cover the body used with Caster stickers. There is no doubt at all of what I am running. I wear my Caster T-Shirt, use my Caster Pit Mat, and hang up my Caster banner. I do not, and will not run another brand of chassis. At the track, and at the two Hobby shops I frequent call me the Caster man, lol. I took Reapers advice and picked up an RC8e body from Larry's Hobbies, and as much as I detest anything AE, I do love the new body. :) I am quite proud to be part of Caster Racing USA, and am quite proud of all of you guys here on the Caster USA forums, I have certainly learned a lot from most of you here. In my opinion what body/paint scheme is a matter of taste, and certainly a matter of convenience for me at any rate. :)

It would certainly fit you Chris, you are Mister Caster in my opinion. The pictures you posted of the 2 year old arms are a perfect example. I have never seen the dedication that I see on this forum anywhere else on the net, and the family atmosphere here is a real plus. Just keep on doing what you have always done Caster Chris. ;)

Is it a requirement for Losi? I have heard that the others are starting to crack down (such as you have to run their esc, motor, etc....)

On the first run with this brand new lid the front body clip pulled right through the lid tearing it. So I made some plastic body plates. And my front mount is modded. Its a good 1/2" in from the stock location. If your going to run this body these are a must
The rear hole had a good oval to allow for chassis flex

This was after maybe 30 min of running. I know this lid isnt going to last but maybe another race. The last JC lid I bought for my EX still looks new and has no cracks in it at all.
Its 5 months old
But again, what to I know. In fact why does Caster even have team drivers if there imput is just disregarded. Caster Chris seems to have it all worked out

Reaper, thanks for the input and pics. I'm going to reinforce my body around those areas before i run it. We will see what happens. I think the plactic might be good but now it needs to be alittle thicker
The first edition of the space bodies is not good. They are too thick and crack just behind the front post. We cut off about 1/4" on the front and rear and elongated the post hole which has saved 5 of the 11 RTR.
I have the EX-1 body and it's nice and thin and has a few tapeable cracks. The secret magic tape, hook and loop, velcro works great.
The new space bodies are thinner and much more flexible. And again the magic tape, hook and loop, velcro works great.
Now all that aside, I can see this is on REAPER's one run nitro where you have to use body clips and even the slash came with those cool little pain in the a$$ washer which would be good. The best ones are the HPI 5T body mounts that hold the clip and have a nice thick washer. Many of the drift guys run the rubber/metal retainers from Eagle Racing thus evening out the clip compression.
I'm not sure what kinda impact would have ripped the clip through the body, but there are many solutions and a lot of guys here use them with other bodies.

Oh I believe you. I was just joking. The stock body is ok but will not last too long. Mine seemed to do pretty well on my fusion for awhile but I flipped over one good time and cracked on the roof really bad from being too stiff. (I had a thicker one). I don't expect them to last too long.

[QUOTE=bring it on;51059]I will be racing with mine on this Sunday. I really love this body and i hope it holds up.QUOTE]
Make the holes oval shaped pretty good to make up for the chassis flex and it will last alot longer. With the holes you have you will crack the holes or the body pretty quickly if your plastic on the body is the same that I had awhile ago.
And as for Reaper...... Your stuff is taken into consideration but when EVERYTHING you seem to use BREAKS..... well....... ummm...........
Now as for the body I don't blame you one bit, and thats because 99% of all of us who have used that body has had that problem with it breaking at one time or another.

Every body needs the holes elongated. the put drywall tape and shoogoo on the back side. The bodies on my Caster cars last at least a year. There is a guy that runs with me every week end since he got his car (over a year ago) he runs the old style RTR yellow body and it is still fine. It just takes a little time to do it properly.

I do the whole body. it keeps the paint from rubbing off and it will last forever. I have one that lasted so long that the paint faded.

If caster moves away from the spaceship type cockpit, i'll definitely run the factory bodies. something a little more 'standard' looking would please the masses.
I've used shoegoo in the past exclusively, but i found the larger the patch, the more it attacks certain paints and causes lifting and or discoloration.
I recently switched to permatex ultra-grey silicone and use it with fibreglass cloth. Its been rock solid so far, seems to be fuel proof (time will tell) and isn't attacking my paint job (even the chrome!!).
and I'm on the other side, if Caster goes back to the original body, I'll buy all the spaceship. To me it's the only different one out there, all the others look boxy and sharp edged.
