I was talking to CAM the other night and he mentioned braking how he does not hardly use any. I do not use alot of brakes but I do use them coming into turns and to help bring the rear end around sometimes. The question I have is do some of you really fast guys set your cars up so that when you let off of the throttle the brakes drag without having to actually use the brakes with the trigger??? I can see how that might work but am curious if anybody does that.

Wouldn't you just set the servo to return to the brake position every time?

I dont use brake unless i have too.
You will notice your buggy slow down as you pitch it in a corneralso being smooth on thethrottle and backing of the throttle in corners gives a bit of engine brake but takes practice.
Trick with racing is to carry as much corner speed as possible and to keep consistent.
There are guys who run drag brake ie: brake is partially engaged at neutrol throttle input, this add drag as you back of the throttle into a corner but can over heat teh pads and then you have brake fade or in consistent brakes.
Also watch the fast guys and what line they take.
What also works is when you practising and there is a faster guys on the track, try and follow them everytime they get past you.

Well I am a very smooth driver and not a blipper at all. I do not use to much brake but I do use it. I just cannot see how some do not use it all! Well unless you are in the air.

ryan mayfield is the only person I have even seen be amazing with the drag brake. I guess it's whatever you get used to and that would be a movement you wouldn't have to make. At his level i'm sure thats an advantage but to me I use whatever is comfortable. I wouldn't try to reevent the wheel and think it would make you faster.

I have mine set up that way (drag break) after the first time I took apart the car. It just makes sense to me logically to use it that way because there is less trigger movement and for me makes it easier. The "normal" way became crazy at our tight track.

down side to drag brake is on the jumps tends to make the car nose dive so you have to keep on the throttle.
