Ok, I've got a whole suite of problems now.
First, the air filter doesn't want to stay on(the manifold stays, the filter itself falls off) and that probably shortened the life of my force 21 by mabee 5 galons(well, I'm thankful, now less time to use this crap motor)
Also, I have trouble with the steering.
The servo stays put, but the tie-rod and bellcrank can wobble(mabee 5 degrees)
This is causing huge inconsistencys of my driving now, because I can't keep it straight.
Also, I'm only getting 4 minutes per tank of gas, but i'm guessing its because I'm running top fuel(and really lean to boot... 275F) to get the same amount of power I was getting with odonnel at 240F...
Stupid Traxxas, NEVER EVER MAKE FUEL AGAIN!!!! AGH.
Now I've got to burn a gallon of this crap(and possibly like 100000 glow plugs) before I can buy some good odonnel fuel again...
Ugh... Should have never listened to that stupid Hobby Town guy saying top fuel was premium fuel.
Also, my antenna tube keeps breaking, I land upside down during the big air jumps all the time and after a while the antenna tube snapped.
Dirt also tends to like to get into the steering joints, making it really slow and hard to move the wheels(i'll just get a high torque digital servo I guess)
So yeah, I've got quite a bit of problems with this thing now, it ran great(I could clear the 4ft jumps that got me about 8ft of air... but not consistently)
The steering is way wack, I think my next purchase is a spread spectrum radio...

Buy a new one then, or silicone it back together....

Are all the screws tight, etc....I looked at a rtr buggy and I would say it wobbles about 1-2 degrees...

Have you thought of leaving it bent inside the body instead of out the hole? Leave the tube there, but run it up and over to the front shock tower. If you are on a track, it shouldn't matter, but just in case, get a throttle return spring...

Well said. I had to get some shoe goo on my friends himoto truggy today to keep the filter on the neck. You will get some wobble from the wheels and also dirt too (they are off road vehicles). Just have to blow them clean afterwards.

Do the rtr's come with the same air filter set up as the pro kit?
If so...it's the same as the OCM and I've been using the same one for almost a year. If it's put together properly with zip ties it won't come apart.

yeah the wobble is around 2 degrees but I couldn't approximate it.
I tore it down and loctited everything.

airfilter must be cable tied on !!!

From the sound of your motor woes id say that motor needs a retune from scratch again.
Havent had issues with teh Force motors.
Only hassle has been guys newbie guys tuning in big adjustments.
When i retune for them its perfect.
Most of them run in a local parking lot so dont race but are running 16T bells and there cars haul and are holding up well.

OK, I tore my motor down because I definately got some dirt in it(but luckilly no damage...)
I lost the little pin that sticks out of the crankshaft that hooks onto the starter back plate... what's this thing called? I need to buy one(or five, ten..) lol
is this it? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCAW2&P=7
or is this it? http://cgi.ebay.com/Duratrax-Start-Shaft-Pin-TORQ-21-DTXG0775_W0QQitemZ220247920376QQihZ012QQcategoryZ3 4060QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksid Zp1638Q2em118Q2el1247
Whoever knows the diameter and length of the pin can confirm which one it is?

Are you using a starter box yet ??? if yes dont worry about teh pin.
If you still using teh pull start check the hole size if its 3mm for the tower one to work.

I have the losi 8T airfilter set and it doesn't need to be cabled tied on and fits well in the caster. It's on a GO .25 engine though and fits snug to tight.

I got tired of having to cable tie the old one (pain in the arrrsee).

Use the o-ring retainers from an O.S. air filter set.....works perfect.
