Hello Caster lovers :)

Got a serious problem with my team mate who came to offroad from onroad, I am guilty that he has purchased a Caster K8T Pro truggy.....

After yesterdays race he want a trow caster for away and quit offroad...

Please help with some advise as he is complaning that all this season he is trying get away from understeering

My son also drives same batch truggy and has good, sometimes get even oversteering.

What you USA experts would say? what very first things you would do?

He don't want to speak today about this, but as soon I will get his latest setups, will post.

Many thanks in advance :)

On the diffs, use THIS setup:

Front 10,000 weight, Center 7000 weight, rear 1000weight.

Shocks are your choice depending on track conditions. Our's is bumpy, loose as crap, & long straights. I use 35 wt. front shock oil, 45 wt REAR oil. Set your DROOP at EVEN for the longest shock. Middle holes on TOPS of the shocks, Inner holes in rear bottom, outer holes in front bottom. OTHERWISE, EXACTLY as the manual shows!

I came from a Mugen buggy & truggy, & the Caster has MORE steering than ANYTHING I've ever drove! (& I've been at this for over 30 YEARS!)

THIS setup provides the MAXIMUM STEERING possible! Any more would be ridiculous! On the steering ackerman plate, MIDDLE HOLES!

ALSO: Did you/he get the PRO KIT or the RTR? THIS will make a difference!

HOPE this helps!

I get confused with understeer and oversteer. Is it pushing in the corners and turning too much?

UNDERsteer = PUSH
Oversteer = 2 much steering. (C'mon, we cant EVER have 2 much steering!):&!@

What toe plate is he running? If he is running a 3 then put a 2 or 2.5.From the extent of his frustration he may need a 2. Also what front toe is he running? Running zero toe out will give you more steering. He can get this fixed easy. The K8T has tons of steering.

Just my 2 cents,

It could be a driving style issue. One of our locals just started off-road and he is a very accomplished on-road driver. He has a tough time adjusting, if you have a loose track you can't go in hard to the corners and expect the car to react like a well setup on-road car. Just a thought

I'd like to but I'm not THAT accomplished at on-road...

There are some many set up things that contribute to understeer, start with tires and move on from there, each one at a time...
