Had our Aug. race on the 1st, very hot and humid and a small turnout. We had issues with the timing system so we came up with a different format. We ran 1/8 buggy and truggy in seperate double elimination bracket format. Had 8 entries in both. I had a tough draw in the buggy and was matched up with one of the fast local guys. We ran 6 laps head to head with the winner moving on.........we were the first race and I ended up in the losers bracket after a back and forth race. Long story short......we both advanced to the finals, I managed to make it all the way thru the losers bracket and got smoke checked in the final for a solid second place.
Not so good in the Truggy, started out ok but fought steering servo issues all day, ended up fourth.
Everyone enjoyed the format as it was a good change of pace, most of the races were over early but several were good battles to the end.
Both Casters (K8T & EX-1) performed well, I look forward to the next race.

Since our local track has been out of service i built a late model out of one of my 1.5's and ran it this past weekend. It is the first time that i have driven late model but i absolutly love it and didnt do that bad either.
Considering that i had never set one of these cars up before i didnt do too bad.
I qualified 4th and finished 4th out of 12 drivers.
Needless to say i learned alot about how to set one of these cars up and look forward to the next race. :)

I ran the 1/8th scale for the first time in over a month yesterday. It was a new track that just opened in my area. It was HOT and the turn out was good. The track was all top soil so it looked like a motocross track by the end of the second round. I wish more tracks were like this. I qualified 2nd and was really testing the durability of the car over this HUGE tripple every lap. I landed so hard on the left fron wheel that the sway bar actually snapped. There were 4 Caster buggies in attendance. I was running 2nd behind a local fast kid (he is 12, but at least he was running a Caster)
I made some super sweet passes on the big tripple and had the crowd on their feet! Then my ESC decided that it had had enough of the hard landings and took me out of the race. Mod 2wd was super tough on the mx style track, but the racing was incredibley close. I finished 3rd with a field of really fast drivers.
