YourDog, there are chargers that measure the charge on a battery while charging and beep when fully charged. They also stop charging (some may trickle charge) when at its peak. My investment in that has been good.

i know but i didnt get one. i was more so wondering if the battery needed to be charged when you first get it. and if there was any way to tell how long it needed to be charged if it doesnt tell you.

Sorry double post.

I don't remember anything that needed more than 12 hour charge. Also I would post a part # for the charger so we can read up on it.

You can charge the battery on the wall charger but would need to monitor the voltage with a multimeter and disconnect it as soon as you see the voltage drop/reverse.
You could also use a 500ma universal power supply like this for a faster charge set at 7.5v to charge it faster.

Would be wise though to buy a peak detection charger.

From this link http://www.greenbatteries.com/batterycalc.html
its calculated that it would take about 20 hours to charge at 100ma

Cheap chargers

The chargers I had that were just wall chargers I usually put on for 1.5 hours the first time and then 1 hour everytime afterwards. The other chargers that were mentioned here usually charged in 15-20 minutes.

The battery is fine. They make 2 different kinds of connectors. What you can do is get an extension for a servo wire or battery wire, Same wire just like an extension cord from you LHS and cut the end with the short connector off and splice the new one on. Alot of different companies have either one connector or the other not just the Caster. Alot of the Ofna's come with the small connector. I have had that problem with other Kits I have had in the past. Or Go buy another switch with the right connector (only like bucks or something)
