Thats awesome news Eric. We need an indoor track in the IE. Im sure I will be there every chance I get. Are they using the clay from the sprint car track? Or are they taking the dirt from the old RC track that used to be there.

Im sure you will be fine with no practice, track is almost the same as last time we raced there. I will try to make it on the 18th and as far as which track to go to my vote is for west coast as it is closer for us inland empire people than ocrc..

Yeah true west coast is a lil closer for us. The plan as of right now though is I will be picking Rick up from his hotel @ Disneyland so we wanted to hit the closest track to Disneyland so I will talk to Rick some more and go from there. I will give you more 411 saturday @ hemet if I get more details together.

OK, thanks for letting me know about sunday. do i need table and chair for this track? I hope to be there about 6:15 with Eric. Not much if any time to practice. Is it a clay track? Save me a pit spot if there is tables and chairs there.

Thanks, Rick

I have only one set of clay tires(wishbones) but have a set of super soft talons that might work. I have some other old grp tires that look to be a clay type tire also but foams are bad in at least one of them.. I will bring what I have and maybe something will work. FYI this track is super high grip.

Do you know this kid?
Brendan B.

Jeff Bluff (father)

Lancaster,CA 93536

He races at, Team Chaos is his current team, they are the local track owners as well. We practice and race for free , so we have no shortage of track use. Another track just opened in our area (Antelope Valley) as well. So that gives us West coast R/C, OCRC,Coyote Hobbies, Revelation, milestone, Hot Rods, Hemet all within 2 hours or less of us in L.A. county which would give Caster a solid visibility platform....

I havent heard of them but since they are from the Antelope Valley Area they probably dont get over to where I race that often, Antelope Valley is a good 2 plus hours from me so Im guessing they would race more at Hot Rod or Coyote hobbies which I havent been to.

Round 8 of the Grass Roots racing series this Saturday at Thunder Alley RC Raceway. This is the final round of the series and I am currently in 6th place in Stock 2wd SC. 3rd thru 6th are separated by only 4 points so I still have a chance to advance a couple positions. 1st place is already locked up by our very own Caster Team Driver Eric Hase who has been consistently running up front all year. In 1/8th E-buggy Im in 7th position with a slight chance of moving up 1 or 2 spots. This was a very competitive class with all drivers being highly experienced and our points leader being the 4wd sc national champ. As far as I know I have been the only driver with a Caster vehicle in this series and have been proudly wearing my Caster Shirt and hat and promoting this brand. Im sure many people attending have taken notice. I still have people asking all the time "Whats a Caster" so I show them.

yes, will have enough power, just not much top end and watch the temps

hakmazter
07-30-2011, 12:22 AM
Yes, we were winning races with it on a small track. I can't find videos, but as long as there are not any big gap jumps you have to take, you will be surprised how fast you can be in the infield sections.

Well I didnt get to try it out this weekend. I need to get the DE racing wheels so I can run the new Caliber SC tires I bought for it. I bought some other 17mm hex wheels off ebay that I was told were SC8 wheels but they wouldnt fit standard 3.0x2.2 sc tires.. Are SC8 wheels and tires different?

hakmazter
07-31-2011, 11:48 PM
Yes they are from what I was told, but who knows. They look the same as regular ones other than the 17mm hub, but I cannot verify.

Well Im racing the EX1.5 Pro this sunday at ARC Raceway at The Summer Sizzle Race. I will be running the new RC Shox two stage pistons for the first time. Im going tommorrow to do some testing and get some practice time. They are having an e-buggy class and Im hoping there are enough of us so we can run on our own without the nitros. Its going to be fun either way. I will report back on the pistons tommorrow night.

Jtuepker1
08-20-2011, 01:14 AM
Copper you will love the 2 stages. I know i do and will be ordering them when i get my 10th scale buggy.

coppercanyon
08-21-2011, 02:12 AM
Unfortunately the new dual stage pistons didnt work out too well, Two of them actually broke inside my shock. In all fairness it may be patially my fault. They are designed to have a washer between piston and shock shaft and another on top between piston and locknut. I left the bottom one out because the pistons are kind of thick at the point at which they mount. So the locknut wouldnt thread on completely. Per Marcus it needs the bottom washer on there to stabilize the piston, which in hindsight seems to be the case. But I still didnt think they would break. I have never broke a shock piston before but I have had the locknuts come off. I guess murphys law is in play here. Back to stock pistons for now.

08-21-2011, 02:18 AM
That sucks, i had people asking me what i did to mine today at the track. After the race and bending the drive shaft back to a drivable situation, i let them run it around. The one guy asked if i would give him my shocks.

coppercanyon
08-22-2011, 12:58 AM
I will get a new set. Marcus is a great guy and said he will send me out a new set, I just need to paypal him shipping. They felt good what little time they were working. Cant wait to try again.

I raced at the Turkey Shootout race at HCR today and had a good day overall. In Stock 2wd sc I won my first qualifier and set the TQ for the day and took 2nd in qualifier number 2. In the main I got quickly passed by the #2 qualifier who is a very good driver and at that point I was battling with a couple other drivers to hold on to second. I finally pulled away from them but the leader had gained a big lead on me that was too much to overcome. I held on to a solid second with a very good run. I also raced in 1/8 ebuggy class against a field of very talented drivers. In the first qualifier I finished sixth in a field of 9 cars, second run didnt go as well I was listed at the end in 9th place although I think there was a lap missing from results as my last lap showed as 84 seconds. Ended up qualified 7th going into the main, I got a good start and quickly moved up to around 3rd or 4th and eventually ended up finishing right in the middle with a fifth place finish. I had a good run but not fast enough to stay with the top drivers.

Well I havent done any racing lately as we have had a lot of rain here locally lately and our outdoor tracks have been flooded causing a couple races to be postponed. But last night I went out to our local indoor track and at least got some practice in with my EX1.5 . It felt good on the small clay track but had to be careful since I was the only 1/8th buggy out there I didnt want to destroy anyones 1/10 cars. With X-mas being this sunday it will be at least another week before I race. To all of the people coming to our forums I want to wish you all a happy holiday season.

No racing this weekend, but did get out to the track and practice with my Jammin scrt10 (getting used to 4wd sc so I will be ready for ours). Electronics are getting dialed now so should be good for a quick swap to the new truck. Found out EX 1.5 battery trays are not the only ones that come off chassis without mods. My Jammin has the RC Monster conversion and I had the battery tray fall out of it. Looks like it will need the blind nut mod as well. Hope to get out racing next weekend as there are no family distractions as of yet. Hopefully it stays that way.
