I'll start off the Caster Car results page...sure I get the short month...
It was great day at The Hill on Sunday Feb 6th, I didn’t do so well but Caster was in the A main truggy and A main buggy.
Truggy: Started out running the F8T with 62/18 and a MM with 2200kv on 4s…HUGE mistake, way too much power, even seemed to have torque steer…I got so mad when I pulled a wheelie down the straight I had to quit the qualifier…went back and swapped out to 16T pinion, much better also swapped tires from I Beams to Calibers, better side bite. Was keeping it steady to get a good qualifier in then the batteries dumped, had four laps limping around the track…Bottomed out in the B main, swapping 1 and 2 and then the motor AND pinion moved and had nothing…
Buggy: After the truggy qualifier the buggy ran great, I had to calm down and just drive. Got in 10 laps, but not the 11 needed for the A main or 12 for TQ. 2nd qualifier smashed a rear diff inner bearing so was out and had to rebuild for the B main, thanks to Bando711 for the bearing. Hung in 2/3 in the B main, passed a Vorza on the straight as he was doing about 15 cartwheels, was in 2nd, went another lap and caught the leader, went to pass on the triple, the leader rarely makes the landing, we hit in mid air as I passed him and it ripped my body off and somehow pulled out a battery pin so then the battery fell out. I was able to get the buggy put the battery back in and drive across to finish in 2nd. So no bump up…
Another note…we had a couple new guys on the track, and while the driving is not superb, reminding them about marshalling is most important. The marshal tried to fix my car on the track just after the triple, and was .2 seconds from catching a buggy in the head. I don’t think yelling at a marshal is a good thing, except “Get off the track!!”
