I just finished the rear, and still working on the front. I've only given a little drive test, no track test yet....
You will need:
Durango gear diff kit

Caster S10b center cup set
Caster S10b rear dogbone
2.5 and 5mm drill bit
Dremel
Torch
3mm tap
Cut out the area under the lower diff half in between flanges
Place assembled diff in to see if it spins freely
Drill out short sided diff cup 5mm through, grind or lathe off ring
Drill out and tap for set screw
Grind out Durango diff cups to fit rear axle heads (about .2 mm)
Dremel the notches about 1 mm deeper in your rear center diff cup
Harden all diff cups using the heat to cherry red/quench/heat to cherry red/quench method
I also taped up the rear chassis opening on the CF to keep carpet fuzz out...
Assemble as you would...

Looks good, Please update us on your testing.
Mikey is working on mini gear diffs for the SCT platform. I hope they are compatible with the S10B.

you do know that the gear ratio is different right? your going to have to do the same thing to the front or the rear is going to overdrive the front. besides that that is awesome, i was going to do the same but those difs are 50 a pop and i didnt want to spend another 100 on the drivetrain!!

Yup it's 50 bucks for the diff kit and pinion, but if you go with bfas, for 30, you still have a ball diff in the end, and it just doesn't work for me on carpet...

I need a 103-104mm dog bone for the front, the only one I have has bigger end knuckles not sure if I want to machine the cups that thin...

Wish it was the front pulling, that would be cool out of corners....still working...

grind down the dogbones, thats what i did on my project, works fine but takes a bit of work!

Ok finished the set up with the front gear diff.

I used a Kyosho 103mm dog bone from a DBX, it was the right length but the heads and pins were a little bigger.

I machined out another center diff cup, the short one, 5mm for the pinion shaft and 7mm for the dog bone, and then filed out the slots for the dogbone pins to fit.

I also had to file out the slots of the center diff cup and bore it out to 7mm for the dogbone...

It all went together very nicely. I drove up and down the driveway but no testing on the carpet yet...maybe later today...

im working on a center dif right now!! its completely machined already i just need to figure out how to get a thrust bearing to fit inside so it will differentiate. this should get the front to pull more than the back on corner exit as well as stabiize the car.........

What about SKOP035 thrust washers? They come three to a pack...

i got it to work just used the stock ones since i dont have a s10 right now until the V2 comes in. it feels like it is going to work as it is kind of a slipper differential but its not gear or ball driven. i had to modify the stock spur gear but i might machine a new one using Mod 1 pitch. since it is a diferential a slipper is not really need since it will transfer energy to the opposite end of the car. sucks i cant test it for a while but i have all of these parts ready for when i get the new car! i think this along with the durango dif mod the car should be good , i wish we could find a cheaper alternative to the rango difs though, i cant find anything anywhere??

I ran the new metar gears with BFast rings and balls and AE T nuts on a SUPER high bite clay track and everything held up great. The only issue I have is withthe out drives. The are wearing really fast.

bring it on
