Hi all,
New to this forum, I am a proud owner of a new K8T. I am having a few problems with getting this running.
First problem is what glow plug should I be using with the Force 25 I have a few but the os #8 is my favorite for running in so I have used that.
The next is in the instruction manual there where no details on the needle settings could someone please help me here as this is probably the problem I have found with all my rc cars that they are very rarely set correctly at the factory.
It is very tight at the moment so I have been heating it with the missus hair dryer and it will turn over but once it starts the revs build up very fast and if I adjust the idle adjustment down it cuts out so please someone help me get this this setup.
A little about my rc history well I started with the rc choppers and got very tired of constantly fixing things after a bad landing or a crash so I went on to the nitro rc cars and have been hooked ever since. I have only ever owned thundertigers but after checking out this forum and a few vids on you tube the caster k8t just seemed to have everything and many hop up parts so here I am now trying to get this thing worked out.

Welcome to these forums. You should love the K8T. The needles should be set ok. It will be rich at first. If you start it and the idle raises up, you say you adjust the idle down, how are you getting down? (idle screw or radio throttle trim?)

I have had to play with both as if I dont when I apply the break the carb opening goes down to .5 mm so in order to stop this I have the opening set at 1mm with the idle screw that way when break is applied it will not die but if the opening is at 1.5 - 2mm and I give it a little throttle the motor revs like crazy and it will not come back down from high RPM. I just can not work this out.

Work the throttle with the car off and see if when you open the throttle if the slide on the carb does not close all the way when you let off throttle. The slide may be sticking or the throttle arm may be pulling the throttle open at a different angle and binding it. Also check to make sure the throttle servo arm is tight and not skipping a tooth when you open or close the throttle. If all else fails disconnect the throttle arm from the slide and work the slide to see if it is free.

Thanks just did that it is sticking a bit should I strip it down and clean it.

Also make sure the throttle arm is at the same angle as the slide when it pulls the slide open. If not then it will pull the slide at an angle and bind it too. Hope all this helps.
