The Axe Rossi motor I bought has a breaking posted on their site. It seems like an insane amount of breakin.

Here is what is says. I found something else that contradicts it. Does this seem right? Thats a lot of fuel. Have to take time off work to break it in. LOL

For a good break-in run the engine while the car is sitting off the ground at that rich setting for 3, 4 tanks and then for the next 3-6 liters (1-1,5 gallons) run it on the ground at a low speed and gradually speed it up while you progress through each tank and leaning the high speed needle 1/8th of a turn at a time until it runs close to peak performance. Please don't take short cuts and run less tanks.

I think that would be a misprint. that is way too much to break in. I think it should be 3-6 more tanks on the ground at a slow speed and gradually getting faster. That is what I do.

Thats not a misprint !!!
The quality of the Axe piston and sleeve is exceptional.
If you take the necessary effort to run it in as instructed you will benefit from a long motor life.
My Axe Black Magic is on 86 liters running in my truggy and my Cobra is just over 35 liters.
Only regular maintenance i do is check and replace bearings when necessary and a a rod when the clearance looks a bit much.

It takes a while for the metal pinch to be gone so for first 5 liters or so just tune for decent power but a bit on the rich side.
as the motor runs in the tune will change as the temps drop a bit.

I was wondering why my Picco .28 still has extreme pinch after 17 tanks already through it. Still makes that squeak noise when you turn past TDC. I just never seen anyone break in or heard of anyone break in a motor that long before. Guess I am wrong RRMCCCABE. You are going to be doing some long break ins LOL!

Well I dont know how to drive yet LOL so I would not hurt to be rich all summer while I learn to drive.

My only goal this year is to race HakMazter and run him off the track.
