hi all,

my name is mick and i will be running one of the new casters in the uk.

i have been reading on this forum whilst waiting for the kits to arrive, and you all know your stuff and have lots of time with the casters. a welcome help. i have picked up some good tips allready.

they only arrived this week, but its been stripped and re-built ready for its 1st race hopefully tomorrow.

am really pleased with the buggy so far ( only had a couple of tanks through it outside the house ).

Hey Mick - good to meet you the other day. The Shell looks ACE!!
Hope today goes well.

Missed the local meeting by oversleeping. Figured it was a good weekend to race with wifey being away but forgot that she would not be there to get me up... DOH!!

well do you ever have one of those race meetings where nothing goes right ???

track was in great form, and the good turnout including top national drivers. ( cml and smd drivers ). i was looking forward to my day:).

now the bad news for me,

quali rnd 1 - steering servo died on lap 2:eek:
quali rnd2 - a very strange one, the fuel tank lid got caught on the shell, and promptly emptied itself all over the chassis:eek: ( cased the big triple and buggy on its roof )
quali rnd 3 - front drive shaft came off bevel gear ( only myself to blame )

on the plus side i have learnt a lot about the buggy today, the big bore shocks performed better than my hong nor ( jammin ) ones and they are very smooth. the buggy jumps very, very well easily clearing the big kicker jump at todays track that many were casing/crashing ?&^.

in a straight line, the buggy was WAY fast :D. i was also running the answer-rc clutch shoes, and pete they were awesome. i also installed some answer-rc bearings throught the buggy, i have never had a new kit so free-spinning !!!! the uk kits come with a 2deg rear toe in block, and the rear was very twitchy. i know some drivers prefer their set-up this way,but i will be getting a 3deg block asap. think it will calm the whole ride down. i know we all drive differently, and need our set-ups a little different.

all in all i had a pants day, realy dissapointed with what was nothing but bad luck, but very, very, very happy with the buggy so far , and quietly excited about what i think the buggy is capable of.

it took a few good hard knocks today, nothing broken ( just my pride ), and nothing bent / twisted.

i had people asking what buggy it was and interest was keen, so good news for caster?&^

marks out of 10 for the caster buggy 9/10
marks out of 10 for me and my luck 3/10

Hey Mick - sorry to hear it dude!

Glad the car is going well for you though. Go with the plastic set of rear hingepin braces to savde a little mopre weight as well. Works out cheaper as well.
