I just got 2 RTR's in today and would like to know FOR SURE what motors are in these. I have heard Go tech .21 and .28 but nobody can confirm. Also I do not see a Piston and sleeve available from Caster to rebuild these motors. I would like to know so I can tell my customers what they are and if Caster does not carry the rebuild kit then I can go and try and find out where to get them.
BTW, these are the first Caster RTR products I have seen and they are Very good quality for a RTR. I was very impressed. Only things I can see that need to be addressed are:
-No charger for rechargeable glow ignitor
-No front sway bar
-Tires on the K8T (Please shoot the person who ok's those)
-No glow plug!

Well either you got shorted or they need to update the site.
Here is what is says 'This buggy is 100 ready to run right out of the box. Even a fuel bottle is included. All you need is batteries for the electronics and 20% Nitro fuel."

Yep, no glow plug and not charged glow ignitor means no running! LOL. I have to update my site if they will all come like that.

The buggy is a GoTech 3 port .21 and I think the truck is a .25 but I'm not positive.
I had not even thought about the glow plug, although we have talked about the nicd ignitor with no charger. In the future I think we will see the RTR with a alkaline ignitor or a charger if Mikey can get one to put in the box.
And yes, the truck tires are as bad as it gets lol... and will be changed if there is any other option available. But I don't know of any truck tires in the Caster arsenal right now? I'm sure it will get "fixed" pretty soon cause it's a bit embarrassing on an otherwise really nice RTR.

then it looks like we should throw in an inexpensive glow plug then until Mikey gets them in the box. I suppose we need some liquids also (shocks/diffs) I would really like to have them truely 100% ready to go as an RTR. Maybe we will have to raise all the prices $5 or something on the backside. Nothing worse in my opinion than someone buying a rtr that is new to the hobby and then the hobby store saying "well, you also need this....and this....probably could use this...."

Did not think about the RTRs not having fluid in the diffs or shocks??
Not sure RTR is the right name. Should be RTTA (ready to tear apart). LOL
You need to get the latest model and tear into it !!

Well most all RTR's come with just grease in the diffs and only reason for putting diff fluids is for more tuneability. No need to diff fluids really. Shocks come with fluid in them already. A alkaline ignitor would be fine for a RTR, is what other RTR's come with.
So the buggy has a Go Tech 3-port! Cool. I thought I read something on a guys auction on ebay awhile ago that the truggy had a .25 in it. Must be a Go Tech too because it has the same head.
Anybody know about the piston and sleeve for them from caster? Also are these motors available from caster?

Well I would think there are two markets. Sick people like use that dont mind doing diffs and shocks and the other 70% of the market that wants to dump fuel in them and run.
So you are saying the RTRs have greased diffs and the team kits come dry?

the engine in current cars and trucks are all Force .21 engines and are really nice ones at that.
Spare parts are available from Caster but would be dependant on local distributor if they ordered or carry the parts. Most dont as most guys buy other motors anyway.
A while back they did come out with Go engines but stopped why im not sure.
The RTR buggies come only with the glow starter and no charger due to different voltage and plug requirements around the world. You should be able to buy chargers on there own from local hobby shops.
As for glow plugs they never included them in the kits. I use No6 Nosram or Axe std plugs with 25% nitro fuel.
As for you picking up older model RTR kits they a good value and can be upgraded to the latest spec easily.
Hope this helps

So I guess I got Force motors, they have black heads on them. I don't know about the buggy and truggy having the same motors. My RTR truggy has a different motor than the RTR buggy. They both have the same head but the engine cases are visibly different.
Now I can understand why there is not charger, that is understandable. Still think glow plugs should be included. Every other RTR has them but not a big deal I will buy some and include them in the RTR's I got.

If you have the different crank case then its a Force 25.
